Members donaldcrunk
YEAH I GET TO START ONE OF THESE, HOORAY FULL POWER This is my new super portable system, the DPO is the only portion that i had already, the rest is new. excited to start working with lowpass gates (haven't done that much), and there's just a lot that can be done with the system. the idea for this system definitely grew from the NAMM Buchla easel frenzy, and it can cover a lot of the same functions with some added benefits & flexibility. definitely missing a few things, but it's also a LOT smaller and a LOT cheaper. really pleased with the erthenvar tiles so far, the midi implant tile is the key to this setup - it's duophonic, so i can have two independent voices, even in a small setup like this. great fun with the little MIDI machines sequencer. the FSR (little round push pad things) are a lot of fun as well! i'll be taking a vacation to colorado tomorrow, going to do a lot of jamming straight to digital recorder and see what can be done with it. also a friend picked up this beast - an Otari cassette duplicator and an extra slave unit - i gave it a good cleaning, lube and demag and now it's working very well. having this around makes cassette releases a lot more viable and inexpensive. at least that's what i'm telling myself as this enormous thing takes up valuable space in my tiny house... here are the tape units out of the main case.. this thing was really a joy to work on, everything was extremely robustly designed. and the blue sides are very nice, i've never seen that color on an otari product before. REMEMBER, FEBRUARY IS SYNTH HISTORY MONTH!

Members dan88z
I picked up a Roland Fantom XA off of CL for $500. I don't have any workstation type boards and no sampling capability so this should be fun to play around with.
Members SpaceNorman
I started the month out with the best intentions of not spending a dime on gear ... but as luck would have it, I've found myself playing a few tiny gigs with minimal "vocals only" PA - and relying on stage amps for instrument volumes. In this configuration - setting the two DSR112s that I use as stage monitors for my keyboard rig on the floor - leaves me pumping sound at the ceiling and not out towards the crowd. I decided to fix that and picked up a couple of speaker stands. Ordered 'em from Sweetwater yesterday afternoon - Fedex dropped 'em off this morning (I'm always mildly amazed that I can order stuff from a company in Indiana and have it show up at my door the next morning!). A pair of stands and nice bag! Tried 'em in my music room this afternoon. I'll be using 'em at my gig tomorrow night!
