Members maarkr
When you gig or play out, do you setup your keyboards for mono or stereo output?
Members JazzMastaJim
Stereo, through the PA. The rest of the band is in mono, i. e., same signal to both sides, but since we use a stereo PA, I run in stereo to add a little motion to the sound (and the keyboard cuts through better without being too loud). Members JeffLearman
Stereo monitor, pretty much always (except rehearsals, where I have one powered speaker left at the site). Stereo to FOH if they're running stereo; if not, I send one side and often set my monitors accordingly. For example, send right to FOH, put my left monitor in front of the hihat, so the crowd in front at a small venue gets some image. But I'm an amateur; I play for fun, and rarely more than once a week. Were I a pro playing for the paycheck and multiple gigs a week, I doubt I'd bother. The crowd doesn't notice; it's about the music not the gear, and I'd have a lot better chops (at least, I'd NEED a lot better chops!)
Members The Pro
Stereo4Life. I use Motion Sound stereo keyboard amps for stage monitors and I always run stereo lines to FOH mixer. No matter the situation, I run stereo.
Members Jimbo_Keys
Stereo. I play solo, so my keyboard amplification and PA are one and the same - no FOH or monitors to deal with.
