Members fuzzbass45
Wonder if anyone can help. I cannot for the life of me work this out. I have a Roland MC505, running as master, controlling playback for a Korg EA1 synth then into a Korg Er1 drum synth. The MC505 will start playback on both of the Korgs fine. As it should do. Since the MC505 does not send song change data, I have to change the song on both the MC505, and the two Korgs individually. Playback of both the korgs is only possible by using the EA1's midi thru output into the midi in of the ER1. It will not do this when I try to use the EA1's midi out socket. The opposite is true when i try to send song change data from the EA1 to the ER1. It will only work when the ER1 is plugged into the EA1's midi out socket! I hope I'm making sense. Is midi song change transmitted by the EA1 out the Midi thru output? Roland MC505 (Master ) into Korg EA1 (set to external clock) into Korg ER1. I am sure there is a simple solution to this, but having tried all day I have failed. Any help appreciated. Steve
Members Tullsterx
I'm guessing you might need a MIDI merger: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MIDImerge2/Unless there's a setting on the EA1 that will allow the MIDI out to also include the thru data. But, I'm no MIDI expert.
Members fuzzbass45
Many thanks, I'm not completely sure this will help, but they seem cheap enough to try! I shall investigate! Thanks Again
