Members 1001gear
Wow @ CP$3K no half pedal? Hanmmonds? The piano demo does sound like a recording of an actual piano though.

I wasn't aware of the capability. 2.2 K sounds much better too.
Members KJI
Cudos to Yamaha. Even as a fan of the Roland RD series, I think the CP4 is a really compelling stage instrument...

So the costs are pretty equal if you go apples to apples.
Members zzzxtreme
Agree with scott. Wooden keys, xlr out. High end stuff. Will appeal to many performers
Members wesg
Same action as CP5? I played one of those the other night at a rehearsal (was sitting in to fill a seat). I was blown away by the action. Stellar.
Members willi
It is a different action -- now the weighting is graded. I think it is an existing action with the same triple sensor system. Part of the reason the CP series action seems so responsive is because of the continuous velocity sampling that is expressed in the EP models. Other boards like some Nord units only have 4 velocity samples and no fading between them. The EP models in the CP series blend the layers better and have finer control over volume used to voice these sample layers during performance. Members 1001gear
Costco had a Casio w/ piano action so I spent some time pressing and poking at it trying not to attract attention and was puzzled to find the keys had a loose bounciness at the top of the release somewhat like an old spinet. Is this typical of the new piano actions? And the question of wear now comes up.???
