it was like 5 in the morning when we recorded this, and some of us were off our rockers, so don't expect sanity.

its not really synth music.... some of that too follow.

      purity, that second one rules.

awesome sound . i can see its Doepfer, but could you give me some info on what oscillators and that liquid filter in peticular, were you using?

and how come its polyphonic, that many vcos use via polyphonic midi-cv or something ?

oh, and thanks for listening to my stuff.

              • It's duophonic, a really simple trick you could probably do on most momosynths if you could patch them. The gate cv is sample and holding the pitch cv, there are only 2 vcos in that patch, both the bog standard A110.

One VCO gets it's pitch cv directly and the other from the sample and hold out, so when you play a single note, both oscs play the same pitch, but when you play a 2nd without retriggering the gate, the osc getting the direct pitch cv tracks to that pitch but the osc getting the pitch cv s&h by the gate stays on the first pitch

If you played a 3rd note you'd end up with the 1st and 3rd notes, and so on.

The first bit of modulation is A125 voltage controlled phase shifter being modded by the lfo vca'd with an ADSR.

The filter sweep is A120 Moog ripoff filter, being modded by an inverted envelope that's triggered by the A155 sequencer which is clocked by divisions of the MIDI clock, so the sweep only cuts in when the note reaches a certain length.

I hope that makes some sense!

                • yeah indeed it makes sense , thanks for the in depth description . and the A120 sounds better than i expected. if not a 1:1 transistor ladder, but a very nice 24dB/Oct. filter in its own right i think.. quite liquid.

awesome !! i really like the first part, bfr reverse drums/vocal , sounds kinda krautrock-ish spaced out. and i really like the spatialisation - how did you get the mono to be so distant, was that reverb, or distance came from using mics on everything i.e. room a bit too?

                  thanks

pretty cool stuff! some of the progressions remind me of stuff i use to listen to in high school, mineral and sunny day real estate and what not.

alright the rest of you, it's almost the weekend, someone needs to put up some new music. im going to try, but i cannot do such things alone.

                              MAYOR DALEY'S FASHION COUNCIL

written in chicago after too many parking tickets and seeing mayor daley EVERYWHERE. he's almost a mussolini-esque figure in chicagos.

purity control's air organ thread reminded me of this track. it features an air organ of unknown brand ( you can hear the incredibly loud fan ), korg er1, ms2000 step sequence and of course bass guitar and vocoder.

certainly not my finest work but it amuses me

I haven't recorded anything with the new gear yet, this weekend ought to be a good opportunity to do just that.
