    Thanks,

The retro sound of the song was enhanced by it being played on my modest collection of vintage instruments. The whole thing is played on an Emu Emax II sampler, a Roland JX-8P and a Yamaha TX802.

How can I say from where

Light just shines out of there

These eyes that wear no mask

        There's nothing left to ask

        And nothing left to hide

It's black up in the sky

The stars have all gone napping

Who can say just what's been happening?

        I'm not your hero anymore

        I'm just The Fool

You have to stand alone this time

        Or be destroyed

        As gentle as a dove

        And with a serpent's love

You have to leave me here

        There's nothing left to fear

Now find your own way home

        All journeys made alone

        Through darkness and cold air

You know I'll meet you there

        I'm not your hero anymore

        I'm just The Fool

You have to stand alone this time

        Or be destroyed

        Through darkness and cold air

You know I'll meet you there

        Through darkness and cold air

You know I'll meet you there...

        Best Regards, James

                • in light of my thread searching for alternative forms of inspiration, i decided to pick some random gear and play around with it until i could get something i liked out of it.

gear ended up being an old Siel non programmable drum machine (pop beat!) and an AX80. i didnt go in expecting much, but it became something very special.

it's simple, but then again i only took 4 hours to make it. im having issues with a masterworks compressor right now, so the mix is not at its best.. apologies for that.

the mix is great! vocals are appropriate. my personal taste would be to pull some of the auxilliary percussion down a tad, but that's just me. it works as is just fine.

did you compress that whole mix? it actually sounded louder than the curve album i was just listening to on itunes...

(I did actually lower some of the drums in the mix I did last night - I've updated the MP3 as well.)

There's some 8:1 compression on the vocals and some very mild peak limiting on the master fader. It's pretty basic.

                            • why thank you!

i had to drop Suit's minimoog on some **************** last night... normally i listen to a song about 8 or 9 times after i finish it, but this one i can't stop!

                              http://soundcloud.com/donaldcrunk/anatomy-3-3-10-mix

there are one or two minor problems with the mix, but im really not worried about this one. these are all works in progress until i drop the full album anyway...

that being said i think this will be one of the stronger songs on the record. it's definitely sexy!
