I only use it's controller and audio/midi-interface these days. I did use the VA when I just got it, but the Blofeld sounds nicer to my ears. Blofeld has way better pads and I programmed some leads that I like very much (very punchy). The X-station lacks punch in my opinion. It's really flexible, but the sound is not really my thing. Nice filters though!

        • As you all know, because I blather about hardware incessantly, I added a not-quite SCI piece as well as the MMM to the studio:

          • Here are some pictures of my music stuff. Not the greatest, but it definitely gets the job done.

Ibanez bass and a cheapie guitar - I'm still learning...

                You can see:

On the left hand side above the SonicCell with SRX-07 and -08

Beside it the Tenori-On which sounds via Midi with the voices of the SonicCell

Below the Nord Lead 3 which I layer via Midi with some Synthvoices of the PSR-S700 below. The PSR-S700 is my Masterkeyboard for the SonicCell, so the PSR is much more a FantomX than a PSR-Keyboard. The PSR is a fine masterkeyboard, because the Midi-Setting can be made very easily. And it serves me in addition to the Tenori-On and the Rm1X with some very useful rhythmic patterns and styles.

The Midi connections are made with Midi-Solutions Merge and Thru.

And on the right in front you see the Rm1x besides a Behringer Mixer. Below the Rm1x there will be soon the Korg Wavestation-SR.

The speakers are: Creative Gigaworks T20.

Here you can hear two demos with this setup:

The first one with Tenori-On as sequenzer,

                the second one with Rm1x.

                  • How is the tenori-on fixed for memory? I keep debating getting one to sequence arps and stuff up to feed to the modular... but can it save stuff you're working on? Or do you need a puter connected for that?

It can save to SD card. I think it would be great for that purpose too. I didn't normally save anything on it though, I just ran the midi through the computer and recorded it along with the sounds from my synths.
