A couple of questions regarding synths, can a synth reproduce piano, organ and strings ? An speaker or amplifier is required for output, correct ? The library of sounds is stored on an internal chip(s) correct ? The library of sounds can be uopdated via a plugin mac or p.c. correct ? Many thanks to anyone that can guide me, Have a great day ! Members 1001gear Posted March 30, 2015 Members Share Posted March 30, 2015 Synths will do organ and strings to a fair degree. As far as I know synths have never been able to do acoustic piano. The Yamaha TX 816 came close but sampled grands are better. Incidentally the 816 was the equivalent of 8 DX7s each programmed to reproduce a specific part of the piano timbre.
