  • MIDI with Alesis Micron?

Hi everyone, So a few years ago I purchased an Alesis Micron synth. For various reasons, I did not get around to actually playing it until a few months ago. It was not long before I was frustrated by the tiny LCD interface, so I thought to use it as a MIDI controller for some software. To start out, I downloaded the FL studio demo (will buy if this works out). I hooked up my micron, and...I can't get any controlling. My computer recognizes that something is there, but there is no communication between the devices. How can I get it to work?

    you could check out

You should be able to get it to work as a MIDI controller as well, of course, but it's a shame to have it and not also take advantage of some of the cool things it can do itself...

As far as answering your question about getting it to work with your computer, it might help to post more info. Mac or Windows? What kind of interface?

You want to get better acquainted with your Micron? Select a Setup, any of those annoying disco dance songs that they programmed in, and slow down the tempo to about 40 BPM (which I think is the minimum). THEN start twisting the knobs and pulling the sliders.
