  • I went to a pro audio seminar Saterday and let the instructor hear what I did with my VL4 and he was very impressed with the units capabilities.

    • I have one of these but I seldom use it. I used it once for recording but found it made vocals a little harsh. After reading this I'm thinking about using it again for band and solo acoustic. I have not yet tried it with guitar, just straight in.

      Here's my questions?

Are there any impedence matching problems with it? I tried using it straight in with a AKG Pro wireless mic and it sounded very weak in the PA. No tweaking fixed it.

What is the recommendation for a good PA mixer for someone thinking of doing solo acoustic work with it. Patios etc

thanks and much respect to Craig, trivia, whatever happened with that type of distortion discussed in one of your books a long time ago? hex pickup?perhaps

      Thanks

        • SpunkyMunkey,

Did your mic output enough level to cause the vocal input LED to react?

Oh, and for a nice portable PA, check out the Yamaha StagePAS 500.
