Members Casey4s Posted October 26, 2010 Members Share Posted October 26, 2010 I can't find a schematic for a peavey XXX, but Boogie among others just use a SPST to terminate the ground on one pair of cathodes of the output tubes. Members Casey4s Posted October 26, 2010 Members Share Posted October 26, 2010 Maybe you need a smaller (2nd) amp for a more controllable volume level when you need less. I prefer amps in the 30 (+-) watt range because of this problem. I used a 120W Ampeg VT22 for years and it was great when you wnated to destroy the building accross the steet but was way too much too often in smaller venues.
