Members Timfever
So I'm going ahead and trying a DPDT footswitch after a 3PDT just did not want to play nice with my Vox's treadle (regardless of adjustments, different sized grommets, different felt pads, you name it...), and have just one question (I PROMISE!) for you who are vastly more knowledgable than myself. How do you determine which terminals correspond to those on the popular style of 9 terminal 3PDT that most people use? Here's the schematic that I used to modify mine along with a 3PDT and a DPDT like one that I just ordered: IOW, would one side of the DPDT have terminals 1-3 and the other has 4-6? Or is there some overly complicated alternating thing going on? I realize that I probably look and sound incredibly silly asking this question, but sometimes, ya just gotta ignore that sorta thing when broadening your horizons, you know? I can't say thank you enough for all of the help I've received from the members of this site thus far, either. Especially WRGKMC, who -- unless it offends them -- I may begin to simply refer to as "Modding Knowledge Budda..."

Moderators isaac42 Posted January 6, 2014 Moderators Share Posted January 6, 2014 I'm not quite sure what you're asking. If I'm reading both your question and the diagram correctly, then the poles are 2, 5 and 8. In one position, 2 connects with 1, 5 with 4 and 8 with 7. In the other position, 2 connects with 3, 5 with 6 and 8 with 9. If you're not using 7, 8 and 9, you could use a DPDT switch instead.
