Cut noise... with origami?

This paper deals with traffic noise primarily (hi Mr. Knobs! ), but I think there could potentially be studio applications for it as well. Basically they're talking about using folded aluminum panels to reduce noise by upwards of 90 percent. Pretty interesting read - but be forewarned - there's some math... but you can probably skip past that and still get the general idea.
