Having a hard time, Recording a whispered vocal passage (real poor dynamic range, noise, ...) Use an expander---right? Are there some options as to getting rid of the noise? I normally use an expander on a toms that are allowing too much cymbal noise to build up- or sometimes on a snare that's 'hollow'- to emphasize the body of the snare rather than all the overtones.
