Members gtrmaestro
I bought a MBOX 2 with the producer pack plug ins and a HP computer with a 750 gig hard drive. The learning curve is steep on this and I have an opportunity to do a swap for a Roland VS 2480 with an external hard drive. Would I be making a mistake to make this trade? I do mostly guitar and vocal songwriter stuff, no full band recording and don't really do a lot of editing or punching in so I don't really use those functions on the Pro Tools. Basically thinking the VS 2480 might be easier to use and set up but I dont know if sound quality will be better or worse. Thoughts? I need to make a desicion quickly! Members Alndln2
Years ago I bought a Roland VS machine but I found it too confusing as many buttons served several functions. Even basic recording required several steps. I eventually gave up on it and went software and never looked back. I've heard some people claim it's easier to deal with but not me for some reason. Maybe there's a YouTube tutorial so you can get an idea how they function?
Members Alndln2
I would also sugest trying the Free version of PreSonus's Studio 1 or Reaper as they both have an easier learning curve than PT.
