Phil O'Keefe
Some say it was done in 9.5 hours, others say ten... and I've read still other accounts that say it was closer to 13. Regardless of what the actual final total was, it was, their first album - Please Please Me - was all done in one day - Feburary 11, 1963 in Abbey Road Studio 2. It's hard to believe it has been 50 years since the Beatles recorded their first full-length album, but it has.
Members kittycaster
While we have so many amazing options to create and record music with these days, I gotta admit that the "limited" technology of back-in-the-day kept things pure. Rock and roll is getting old! How long will it live for?! Long live rock and roll!
Phil O'Keefe
Rock and roll will never die. There's more to the picture than meets the eye... The thing about the technology is that it doesn't "make" us do anything. The trick is to try to remember that just because you "can" do something with these fantastic tools, it doesn't always mean you "should." Oftentimes the best "edit", or the best pitch-correction is recording another take... or putting a little more practice time into learning the part and getting it right before hitting the red record button.
