Another of the greats is gone...

Rolling Stone has announced his passing as well. Funny, many other news agencies have not updated. RIP Tom! You are dearly loved.

Tom Petty, the dynamic Hall of Fame frontman who led the Heartbreakers, has died. He was 66.

Tom, hope your Rickenbacker is chiming in Heaven and you are singing with the other Wilburys, George and Roy.😢

Latest news feeds say Tom is still hanging in there, but has had a serious heart attack. A lot of news sources jumped the gun, announced his death prematurely.

Check the latest - this is one of those "developing stories" ie, bad reporting first, catch up with the truth later....

I hope he isn't gone, but if he is I hope he knows how very much I loved his music...

he is still alive as of a couple of minutes ago...

Rumors of his death have not been exaggerated.

I'm not much of a fan of rock music, but I kind of liked Tom Petty and his music.

This one really hurt - he's long been one of my favorite artists and songwriters.

Thanks for all the great music Tom.

The guy wrote a LOT of freakin' hits!

And you'd be hard pressed to find too many people to didn't like at least one of 'em.

It'll always be the first two albums for me just for having a punkier edge to them, but damn if he didn't pretty much single-handedly being on that 60s revival in the late 80s/90s.

                  Great band too.

                  RIP Tom.
