Members blue2blue
RIP, Mr Coleman. The world has lost a master of form and formlessness, time and timelessness, the eye of a hurricane of tumult and turbulent change, an artist whose music changed from moment to moment but whose artistic values were eternal. Members Hard Truth
One of the things I like about his music is that it can sound confusing for most of the song and then the ending makes the whole thing make sense, much like a good movie. I saw him 1979 or 1980 with Prime Time and was then surprised to see a few of the same players with James White and the Blacks (AKA Contortions). Members davd_indigo
I came to know Ornette thru "Science Fiction" from 1971. With vocals, like on this track, I think he could have been commercial. In a god way. [video=youtube;3xENRi-5rOs]
Members monstermaker
His Atlantic stuff blew me away. He opened my eyes a little more and I thank him for it. Ornette's music is still ahead of its time and is destined to be rediscovered over and over. God rest his soul and keep him close.
