Members mldolan
yes i know i am an idiot and a noob, so don't bother bringing that up. my guitar teacher has a recital planned for two weeks from now (thanks for the heads up, laurenn) and she wants me to play two songs (guitar, acoustic or electric) but as it will be a mixed crowd kids, church goers etc. it has to be G-rated which rules out 99% of what I know already or have written. I already have a little blues tune that she gave me (electric/no vocals) but I'd like to do an acoustic number with vocals as well. so far I have come up with two songs at my skill level and vocal range "cold cold heart" by hank williams senior, and " city of new orleans" by arlo guthrie. I'am not thrilled about either one so am open to suggestions. thanks Mike

Members deanmass
Pick a song you love and know well, and can sing. Then learn the guitar around it. My suggestion? Rocky Raccoon by the Beatles. Black Comedy, mentions shootings AND the bible, kids will like the raccoon stuff...)

Members ultravibe
Garbage by Woody Guthrie From an old sesame street album a friend had - an old band of mine covered it whenever we had a mixed audience. Great song and socially conscious, to boot!
