Members LiveMusic
My sound volume has gone down to almost imperceptible. I can barely hear it. I have checked everything, every place I can jack up volume and even rebooted. Any ideas what's going on? I just put a cd in, even it is too low. Members philbo
I have to presume you are talking about your PC, since it's rebootable... Try connecting speakers to it?

Members bbach
It's an old Dell laptop. Headphones, same thing, very low. It's gotta be the sound card don't you think? I assume you have double checked all your settings, and I see that you have tried it through the built in speakers and headphones so it's not the speakers. Members LiveMusic
Now I have no sound. I don't want to spend any money on this laptop cuz I need to replace it but I can't buy a laptop at this time. Anyone know if I am likely to find a used sound card that would work in this Dell Inspiron 7500? (Locally) And how much would you think it would cost? And can a non tech expert install one? Members ryan7585
just get one of the cardbus soundcards... just pop in the cd and follow the instructions and you're good to go. youll get a lot better quality that way too but before i resorted to that i'd try reinstalling the drivers to my existing one, calling tech support, etc to exhaust all my options before shelling out the cash for a new one.
