Members cp123
Hey everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum, however I've been around the Keyboard forum for years. Quick question. I bought my son a Macbook and I plan on introducing him to Protools. I have a Yamaha P80 keyboard. He is 15 years old and is interested in making music and music engineering.1. Is this setup enough to get him started on making his own music, or do I need more? 2. Is the Macbook sufficient enough for the Mbox 2?3. Will he be able to use the P80 as a controller?4. Do I need the Mbox 2, or could I go with the Mbox 2 mini? Thanks for the help. CP
Members thankyou
Bump. I've been considering a Macbook and Mbox also. Hope someone out there has some answers.
Members scud133
The Macbook is absolutely adequate --- it's a faster computer than a lot of windows laptops---Might want to pick up an external hard drive for the recordings, though
Members gdoubleyou
Most current Macbooks will be shipped with OSX 10.5 , it is not certified by digidesign yet. Visit the DUG for work arounds, if any.
