Are undercover surveillance tapes public domain?

I admit this is a strange question :D

So they busted a local gangster known as "the Cheese Man" Mob nicknames sure have gone downhill since the good old days.

They have him on tape bribing an FBI mole whom he thought was a state contracts guy who would give his buddies the inside track on supplying dirt for our famous "Big Dig" highway project.

How great would it be to have audio of someone saying "I'm the Cheese Man" to drop into your dance tracks?

Yes, I'm feeling silly on Friday.

I think your claim is better if they are published on government sites.

The usdoj.gov :cop: site does have some evidence audio recordings. That google site specific search [site: put_the_name_of_your_desired_site_here.com] can help find them.

Here's a bunch of findlaw linkage on the subject.

Yeah, I figured that if the tape was aired on the local news, being within the report placed it within the copyright of that particular broadcast. So going to the source at DOJ is good. Probably won't have a current case though.

I tried searching that site, but all I got was a bunch of porn.

sorry, that was intended as an illustration

you can add something like this to your search words to constrain the search to a single site:

site: (put_the_name_of_your_site_here).(com or something)

or follow Google's example of "teleportation": (Identify the site and then search)

;) I was kidding. I saw your URL and it made me think about the wisdom of using xxx.com as an example.
