Some fine suggestions so far

How about this for a line-up.....

John Entwistle: Bass

Bill Bruford: Drums

Mark Knopfler: Guitar

Patrick Moraz: Keys

Whitney Houston: Voice

It'd be either amazing or terrible! :D

Maybe the wrong choice. I love the way he played drums. He was the proto basher. That fill before the chorus of "Catch If You Can' is gold. The tom work in "Over and Over". So I figure you got this kinetic wire thing going with Slovac and Ribot on acoustic, and Danko is laying down phat country fonk, and Argent adds a swirly raga infused acoustic pad o' many colors. So Clark might be cool bashing his loud, brash hooky beats to tie it up.

OK... maybe not. Ginger Baker on brushes!

OK...

Dave Clark - Drums

Iggy - Mouth

Lenny - Bass

Andy Gill (Gang of Four) - Guitar

Nice! :thu:

With regard to DC being a proto-basher, I guess I can see that. I do like his playing on "Catch Us if You Can" but everything else was a bit too rigid for my taste.

Joni Mitchell's "Shadows and Light" band is close to perfect for me. Maybe move Don Alias from drums to percussion and replace on kit with, say, Steve Gadd or Peter Erskine and I could be happy.

Well since it is my fantasy band, let's be pretty honest about this:

Drums: Pete Thomas would do nicely

Bass: I want a virtuous bass player, one steeped in the bass-ly virtues, but versatile and with "jazz ears" for when they are needed, someone like Will Lee I suppose.

Multi-instrumentalist: Let's go with Dave Gregory.

Guitar and songs: why, Magpel, of course.

Over there, Eric Clapton, ukulele.

Hi Eric!

On my left Sir Kenneth Clark, bass sax.

A great honour, sir.

And specially flown in for us, the session's gorilla on vox humana.

Nice to see Incredible Shrinking Man on euphonium.

Drop out with Peter Scott on duck call.

Hearing from you later, Casanova on horn.

Yeah! Digging General de Gaulle on accordion.

Rather wild, General!

Thank you, sir.

Roy Rogers on Trigger.

Tune in Wild Man of Borneo on bongos.

Count Basie Orchestra on triangle.

(Ting!)

Wonderful to hear Brainiac on banjo.

We welcome Val Doonican as himself.
