Production Perfection

For a Mexican artist, only a few things are as good as this one

That makes it sound like there are not many great productions coming from Mexico and that's not the case. Being from Televisa, Alex has the advantage of having a relatively big budget. This brings an interesting point. Some Mexican artists who have big budgets can record outside of Mexico and/or have engineers who are not from Mexico. Not that this is needed to have a great record, since there are plenty of talented people and great studios in Mexico.

For Syntek's CD, according to Artist Direct, mastering was done by Greg Calbi:

Mixing by Elliott Federman:

And Roy Hendrickson:

Having a nice budget and backing from a huge corporation certainly helps :)

Just for fun, here's another one from Mexico, circa 1980.

Musicians include Steve Lukather (Toto) - guitar; Paulinho DaCosta - percussion; Greg Mathieson - keyboards; background vocals by The Waters and The Pearl Divers (including Mark & Bret Hudson) and drums by Miguel Ferrer (the actor).

My guess is that this was recorded at their L.A. studios.
