Members GuitarPlayerFL
http://www.tlavitz.net/ 1956-2010 It is with profound sadness we announce that T died unexpectedly in his sleep on the night of October 7, 2010. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the world of music. Fortunately, I got to see The Dregs many times. He was WAY too young. Members Karma1
Sorry to hear that. He was a great musician. I enjoyed his playing with Jazz Is Dead - an all-star supergroup who played jazzy instrumental versions of Grateful Dead songs.

Members Raymar
Sorry to hear he went so soon. Saw the Dregs a couple times at the old Golden Bear back in the late 70s and once at Chapman College. He certainly enjoyed his time here. Members Wide
I got to talk to him one time at a West L.A. Music trade show they used to put on every year. I was a big fan at the time. RIP

Members offramp
I can't process this, yet. It makes no sense. T and I went on a drinking tour of my area of town, one night many years back. He was full of stories about the Dregs and humor flowed more freely than beer. His energy that night was astounding. We were walking down the street singing lead lines to Dregs tunes.. people were just staring. Man. At least he went like we'd all like to go, y'know? Goodnight, T. Members mcmike100
Three greats in a row: Solomon Burke, Joan Sutherland and T. Lavitz. I loved the Dregs, but never saw them live. I did get to see T. Lavitz at NAMM perform with Paul Barrerre, Simon Phillips and Randy Jackson. They did mostly Little Feat material. Sad.
