Members Roy Brooks
Playing Hendrix licks with a wah and distortion, even when played with one hand, is so forty years ago.
Members blue2blue
Or maybe especially. Now... I'm not a big fan of 'advanced technique' but after watching Patlansky's demonstration of his putative one hand prowess in that one passage, I found myself thinking, just think what he could do with two hands. Of course, when he played with both hands, it didn't sound that much different. What I kind of like, in a cheezy kind of way, mind you, are guys who play guitar with their left and keyboard with their right. I mean, it's not usually the music I like, just the visual. [EDIT: I've also got a chuckle or two out of a guitarist playing sax with one hand and guitar with the other for a brief bit. It was a pretty good visual. Sadly, the guy was no Roland Kirk.] (When checking out a tapper or other advanced technique player, I use what I call the 'eyes closed' approach: When I close my eyes, how does the music sound? Does it move me as music? If not, I check the fail box and move on.)
