For those in the industry, many of you knew (or knew of) Rick Bos, who had worked with Mackie, Peavey, Gibson, and recently, XP Audio. Unfortunately Rick passed away on November 16th from complications involving surgery.

Rick was always a nice guy and I'm very sorry he won't be a part of what we all do any more.

Just thought y'all might want to know, and send a few good thoughts in his direction.

I knew Rick first from his Mackie days, and then worked with him recently when I did a story on the XP Audio Forge bass amp.

I remember an interesting evening spent with Rick in Frankfurt one year at the Musikmesse. He and I had dinner with fingerstyle artist Doyle Dykes. Turns out Rick had done missionary work in South America and had some great stories.

A real gentleman. He will be missed.
