I've been adding to my arsenal of noisemakers/changers this week and have a question for those of us from the old B3 days.

Remember the trick where you could be playing the B3 , hold a chord, and then reach over and completely shut off the two power switches ... resulting in that crazy sound with the individual notes of chords flying off into chaos as they died away?

What was that trick called? I've never seen it actually documented anwhere. I remember watching guys do that all the time, although I have yet to remember any actual songs or albums that technique is used on.

The player would hold a chord, knock off the power, the notes go crazy, and then I guess, you hit the switches again a few seconds later to power back up. I'd a thought that would burn stuff out in the Hammond if used very often, but boy, that was a fun sound.

Remember that? More importantly, do any virtual B3 organs out there do this?
