Members indigo_dave
I want to buy a table top tripod (say that 3 times fast) for my Sony PCM D-50. I'm looking for advice. I know it's a simple thing but I want to avoid an "oh {censored} !". I'm thinking that lower legs with a post that raises up in the center would be best. I'm thinking of one of these two: Alpen Micro Adjustable Table Top Tripod: http://www.amazon.com/Alpen-Micro-Adjustable-Table-Tripod/dp/B001EE7XYW/ref=wl_it_dp_o?ie=UTF8&coliid=ICRO0YN27F8YP&colid=2TPGWUIH67OT4 Trek-Tech T-Pod http://www.amazon.com/Trek-T-Pod-Trek-Tech/dp/B002BINFDI/ref=sr_1_1?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1312047009&sr=1-1 Any advice ? Thanks, David
Members UstadKhanAli
I'm not sure since this is for recording, but I'm really fond of the Joby Gorillapod for photography. I take this in my camera bag when I go hiking, and have shot beautiful photos of waterfalls, leaving the exposure open for three seconds or more. I mention this only to emphasize that it's surprisingly stable and extremely flexible in many situations where a "regular" tripod would not be. Whatever you get, make sure it's stable, erring on the side of going slightly overboard if you must.
Members blue2blue
You've probably seen these, as well, but I have one of these I got in a brick'n'mortar store for 14 or 15 bucks and it's quite light but not really industrial stengthe: http://www.amazon.com/Sunpak-620-203-9-75-Pocket-Tripod/dp/B0048LVXC6/ref=sr_1_6?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1312048025&sr=1-6 I also notice this for only a few bucks more. I don't know how far the legs extend, but it's cheap and kinda cute: http://www.amazon.com/Sunpak-620-250-Mini-Pro-Tripod-Panhead/dp/B0048LTVGQ/ref=sr_1_8?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1312048025&sr=1-
Members UstadKhanAli
I've used SunPak stuff before for photography. It's good budget stuff and fairly light. This is the Joby Gorillapod:
