Members gdoubleyou
This is the best way to get a clue http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ Amazon usually has good prices, but because I live in Washington state I usually buy from Powermax in Oregon. No sales tax! www.powermax.com But you won't see any real blowouts unless it's an older model The Apple refurb store also has good discounts. Members Jeff da Weasel
Do they happen? Not really, no. As was mentioned, unless Apple is blowing out a model in preparation for a new one replacing it in the line, it's rare that they discount anything, ever. Members michael_B
No real discounts, ever. Check out the refurbished section of the Apple store, that's about the only place you'll find a "deal" on a new(ish) Mac.

Members panthalassa
All of the above are great. Some of my clients are employees, so if you know anyone, "Friends And Family" is the way to go. Also check out lowendmac.com.

Members Zooey
I'm nervously awaiting the announcement that all Mac Pros will be forever discontinued.
Members UstadKhanAli
Have you heard something about that? Is that why? I'm always a few years behind the curve anyway. I can't afford new Mac Pros, so I get them used. I think mine is about 4-5 years old.

Members realtrance
I would suggest waiting until Xmas 2017. You'll probably be able to walk into an unlighted, unheated store and pick one up for free at that point. Only problem, finding electricity to make it run, and a reason why you'd want to.
