Members A. Einstein
4:30 am today WOOOSH 5-10 seconds and I saw an abstract gray pattern, closed my eyes and a gray moving abstract pattern appeared, Then I opened my eyes and only saw the right side of my field of vision, the left side of my field of vision was only that gray moving pattern. For a test: - Closed my left eye and with the right eye and saw only the right side of my field of vision, - Closed my right eye and with my left eye I saw only the right side of my field of vision. So with the left as well the right eye I saw only the right side of my field of visiom, the left side was gray. I work 16-18 hours every day late into the night with two 24" LCD monitors. Members A. Einstein
Then I went to bed and hoped that when I wake up this reduced field of vision would be normal again when I wake up. When I woke up the full field of vision was there again, but I still see little white spots which makes it difficult ro read text on the monitor. Members Jeff Leites
I didn't have exactly those symptoms. I was seeing sort of an amoeba type thing. Turned out I had a detached retina in one eye and retina tears in the other. I had to have surgery immediately. I recommend you see an eye doctor, and possibly a retina specialist stat, cause eyes aren't anything to mess with and I'm sure you don't want to go blind. Members yanktar
Dude, this isn't a medical forum! Go see your doctor, stat, because you MAY be having optical problems or something far worse!
Members Jeff da Weasel
Angelo, that could be anything from a retinal injury to an aneurysm. Get your ass to a doctor immediately.

Members A. Einstein
Ocular or visual migraines:http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/ocular-migraine/AN01681 that's pretty much descibes what I experienced Zigzagging patternsBlind spotsShimmering spots or stars sometimes, ocular migraine is used as a synonym for the medical term "retinal migraine." A retinal migraine is a rare condition occurring in a person who has experienced other symptoms of migraine. Retinal migraine involves repeated bouts of short-lasting, diminished vision or blindness. This may precede or accompany a headache. Only that doesn't fit my case: A retinal migraine
Members spokenward
The geometric or abstract patterns are actually less worrisome than some other symptoms. Although everybody who has described them to me has been freaked out by them. The condition that Jeff Leites described is why you want to be checked out. Do you take your blood pressure regularly? Audio work raises blood pressure because of a natural response to noise. That is probably aggravated by sitting in a chair for long hours. Hypertension (high blood pressure) can bring on the aneurysm that Jeff K mentioned.
Members Huh?
It could be a warning sign of a possible impending stroke. It could be a transient ischemic attack. TIA. This can occur when plaque breaks free and partially cuts off or blocks the blood flow to the brain. If I were you I would immediately get your regular doctor to refer you to a neurologist and a cardiologist to rule it out. I sincerely hope it is not that serious, but please do not wait. If I were you and there were still a few hours to go before you could get to a doctor, I would go to the emergency and pay the extra money to get attention right now. Don't wait to make an appointment hours away or the next day......get in now. Insist he see you right away. I do not mean to scare you, but with these things-the faster you get attention can make a huge difference. Good luck with that and I hope it's not a big deal. Members A. Einstein
Well, I think it has to do that I have a heavy sinusitis at the moment and the usual headache, yes, I sit in the chair the whole day and night, smoke like a chimney and drink at least 10 cups of coffee I haven't seen a doctor in decades, I think this folks are useless, well they know how to make a tomography for 800 bucks and still see nothing. Members yanktar
Classic Migraine Auras (as the visual disturbance is called) frequently include multi-colored sawtooth patterns that classically can be shaped as an eyebrow or a full saw blade. Triangular patterns are common as well and can appear in one or both eyes. Numbness of hands, fingers, arms, lips, face can occur on either side of the body, but if every migraine results in numbness in the same place, it can be more serious. Other Migraine sufferers lose peripheral vision, or central vision. Then, of course, there's the classic photophobia and phonophobia --light and sound sensitivity. Migraine isn't really a diagnosis. It's more of a class of connected symptoms.
Members Beck
I've heard this described by people with migraines. Fatigue plus stress has also rendered some temporarily blind. But it could be many things, including mini stroke or more serious, so yes see the doctor ASAP. I was an Emergency Medical Technician for many years as part of my job as a college patrolman. If you had been with me when that happened you would get an ambulance ride to hospital. Don
Members A. Einstein
I think I simply stare to many hours into the computer monitors every day, I saw white spots before a few time, I may should make a pause every hour. It can happen that I stare for 3-4 hours without looking anywhere else when I work, and the monotor is ro bright in the night

Members Beck
That kind of sinus pressure can certainly aggravate the situation and could do damage. Good, glad you will see a doctor. Also try to be aware of less obvious symptoms that may be masked by the strong headache, which is getting most of your attention. Be alert to any other pains, discomfort or abnormalities in Jaw, back, chest, etc. And if you feel faint or unsteady on your feet all it
Members UstadKhanAli
Never had that happen, not sure what it is, but as your manager, I must insist that you get your ass to a doctor, Angelo.
