Members veracohr
I've never purchased anything from the iTunes Store. I still don't want to, but I want to buy a friend's album and apparently it's only available on iTunes. What format and bit rate do they come in? I can't seem to figure that out. Members Zooey
I believe it's 256kbps/44.1khz AAC. As far as compressed formats go, it's listenable.

Most folks, even trained listeners, can't tell a 256 kbps mp3 from the real thing in careful blind testing on typical material, and many people feel that AAC offers a significant improvement on quality-to-bandwidth ratio. Members Rabid
Of course if you don't use iTunes you may need to convert it to MP3. The conversion process can reduce the sound quality a bit.
Members veracohr
Yeah I use iTunes/iPod. Mostly I wanted to make sure it was a decent enough bitrate.
