I think these 2 songs may be related (one may have influenced the other).

Might Cream had the intro from "The Gorilla" when they arranged the intro to "I Feel Free"? Or am I stretching things a little too far ? I'm hearing a strong similarity.

The Shandells (not to be confused with the Shondells or the Standells) version is cool also. They sound like the early Mothers. (or vice versa)

OK, I just listened to each one and made note about the timings of the similarities. Keep in mind I'm only really talking about the intro of each song.

The Gorilla @ about 30 seconds begins the lower/bassy riff

The Gorilla @ about 39 seconds begins the soprano/treble counter riff

I Feel Free@ start of song begins the lower/bassy riff

I Feel Free @ 10 seconds begins the sopranno/treble counter riff
