    • Hello! Well, I guess it is time that I pony up and put some tunes here. The first four songs on our new album are from our upcoming album that we are releasing next week. I posted this up in the "studio trenches", but actually feel that it is more appropriate here. I hope you enjoy.

                    • One of the weirdest pieces of music I've made was conceived after a sort of open eyes nightmare (not really that terrible, just a fantasy fed by old literature and books) in which I was running in the underground trying to escape something, probably a daily routine....

An underground animation artist, Notamax, was introduced to me by a common friend who is the organizer of an international short movie contest/festival in Rome and we talked about my music and his visual art. We ended up making a video. It is also posted on youtube, but on Dailymotion it has a much better sound, and stereo, especially needed for all the game of spaces and distances I tried to achieve for this track.

Not for everyone maybe, both visually and acoustically, but to quote Peter Gabriel "it digs in the dirt" without compromises, at least this was our intention.

Now I'm freaked out. Pretty killer. I put it on the big screen and cranked up the sound system. Was this mixed in surround sound, because some of the wind effects seemed to work out of my rear surrounds which it gave the soundscape incredible depth. I know you said stereo above, and sometimes surround fx occur by accident, either way it sounded great in 5.1.

In this track I have experimented a circular movement emulation modulating the panning with a sine LFO and the reverb depth with the corresponding cosine. Sometimes remembering some basic high school math has been useful....

Stereo can be more powerful than many people think, the whole CD has never been other than stereo, but, as its name suggests, I tried to make an "experience of space" for the listener. You can manage depth in stereo, listening with surround equipment can enhance the effect. At the risk of sounding a bit "spamming", I'd suggest to get this CD, for those who like some particular physical sensation listening to music....that is one of the things i was after.
