Here's a song I co-wrote with the fabulous Janice Friedman, an amazingly talented jazz pianist.

For years she's helped me with the chords and arrangements for my tunes. One day, she asked if I had any lyrics lying around. I told her I did, and gave her somewhere around 10 of them. She picked this one because, as she put it, "I've never written any sad songs."

"Lonely Sky"

Lonely sky on a lonely night.

Here am I with no moon in sight.

What do the stars do when the moon has gone?

Like me, do they just wander til the dawn?

Lonely clouds catch a sudden breeze

bringing crowds of old memories.

They pass like lovers on your soft sofa bed

but they're just lonely clouds instead.

I thought that I'd found heaven

the night you gazed at me.

But if this is heaven

I'm as lost as I can be.

Lonely tree reaches to the blue.

That's lonely me, reaching still for you.

Why won't my heart give up and let me say goodbye

down here on my own beneath a lonely sky.

I can't make out the title! You're using the JaneAusten typeface' date=' right?[/quote']

The title is Skin and Bones. I'm not sure what the typeface is called. Here's a little promo video.
