Well it's 9:30pm in California and no one's started a thread yet so here goes.

Old 97s. "Fight Songs" was the soundtrack to my honeymoon, driving around the southwest of Ireland. Rhett Miller was just on WTF w/ Marc Maron and said he'd been listening to a lot of Belle & Sebastian at the time, which makes sense. Apparently the label asked him if he could be less "sophisticated." Maybe:

It was a lonely holiday

I was alone, you were away

In Fayetteville or in another state

There's so many towns I hate

When you leave me, it breaks me like a bone

But it's never as bad as when you come home

I've thought so much about suicide

Parts of me have already died

I'm a HUGE Rhett Miller fan. Lots of folks don't seem to dig his lazy vocal style but I just love his sound and his writing. His solo lbum, The Instigator, produced by Jon Brion, is really good.

Tim Harden - Misty Roses

You look to me like misty roses

Too soft to touch

But too lovely to leave alone

If I could be like misty roses

I love you much

You're too lovely to leave alone

Flowers often cry

But too late to find

That their beauty has been lost

With their peace of mind

You look to me like love forever

Too good to last

But too lovely not to try

If I believe in love forever

I'd forget the past

You're too lovely

Not to try
