Members rsadasiv
Hangnails and wrinklesAll the ways that you worryEats you up from insideTakes it slow, there's no hurryThe outcomes you wish forThe pitfalls you fearA surfeit of caringFor those you hold dearIt's the wind in the treesOf a long sleepless nightA creak on the stairsThat doesn't sound rightSo do what you canDon't worsen the messAnd resolve that tomorrowYou will get some rest
Moderators Lee Knight Posted November 3, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 3, 2014 Love it. Surfeit feels a little out of place. How about the price of caring? I love the feeling of truthful observation here and the tone of surfeit is out of place perhaps?
Members rhino55
Agreed that surfeit feels out of place. I was sitting around talking one night with a couple of others that all fit at least two of the following (a few all three) work full time, have kids, gig all the time, and the general consensus was when asked "how are ya," the response should no longer be "I'm pretty tired." We're all tired all the time, so we started saying "normal." It's funny to see other people watch these exchanges transpire and have this total WTF look on their faces. Back to your germ... I really like the way the cadence feels like traditional Irish toast. A lazy 6/8 would fit well.

Members arteg
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Members bee3
I love this. Now off to look up 'surfeit'.
Members mbfrancis
I love this, too. Agree about surfeit. Maybe just "way too much caring." Also shouldn't it be "take it slow, there's no hurry."
