Moderators Lee Knight Posted September 26, 2014 Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2014 Post it! _________ Hi! Nice fertile forum lately... Cool. JJ Cale. It's like trying to get a tortoise to run to you. Old twigs would see the strawberry I was holding... But he ain't running on over. He's coming... On his own terms. That's Cale. Moderators Lee Knight Posted September 26, 2014 Author Moderators Share Posted September 26, 2014 Everything I want by Cale is blocked. This one's cool though. It's funny how Clapton actually has tried to become Cale. Clapton just sounds lazy. Cale sounds confident and inspired... AND relaxed.

Members rhino55
I don't know near as much about production as alot of you guys, but I really love the way JJ Cale's stuff sounds. To me it sounds like it could have been recorded this year. Clapton not so much.

Moderators Lee Knight Posted September 27, 2014 Author Moderators Share Posted September 27, 2014 I'm thinking of Malcolm Young. Confirmed now that the health issues are in fact a stroke and dementia. Malcolm is the genius behind the band. That sound? That's Malcolm. The sound of ROCK! How to play like Malcolm... Members LCK
Michael Nesmith, "Texas Morning," written by Michael Martin Murphy and Boomer Castleman (who invented the palm pedal, which enables guitarists to sound like they're playing a pedal steel). Members Etienne Rambert
RADASIV & LCK: Any time I see music that says "Brazil" or "Michael Nesmith", I listen. Thanks for those. I found myself wanting to hear this song this week. Dunno why,I love flawless productions I guess. And I have a weakness for melodic schmaltz. There are two things that make this song magic for me. The keyboard notesleading to the chorus and the left side harmonies. But it's all great. j9EEf7T8mHc

Jordie Lane - I Think I Always Thought (full stream) https://jordielane.bandcamp.com/track/think-i-always-thought Here is a snippet of an acoustic version: Oh yeah! That is something special. What a voice. The tone, phrasing. Really nice. I really like the song too. Nice, familiar yet unique chord progression. I can't put my finger on the classic country singer he's reminding me of. Whoever it is, I really love what this guy is doing. Really nice.
Moderators Lee Knight Posted October 2, 2014 Author Moderators Share Posted October 2, 2014 I just dig Alt-J. Primarily an art rock sort of "we met at University" deal. But what makes me take notice is... they're small. Everything thing they do feels little. In a cool way. They're a head scratcher to me. This new one by them taps the blues for a little arty, greasy spoon, bathtub gin, muddy river, dirty, barefoot flavor. I like.
Members bee3
I was thinking Chris Isaak. I couldn't believe it when I looked him up and he was a youngish dude.
