Members rsadasiv
Save me from having to beatbox. What do you call the kick-kick-snare+guitar 6/8 rhythm in the verse here?

That's what I call it. Accurate but not helping. There's got a be a vocabulary for this kind of stuff that I just don't know about. I was talking with a guitarist and describing this rhythm: kick-snare-kick-kick-snare and he says "oh, the Ringo beat". And I thought, yeah, Ringo frequently plays that pattern, sure. Then later, at a different session I told a drummer that I wanted "the Ringo beat" and she was like "what are you talking about?"
Members rsadasiv
I am very tempted to accept this as solution.
Members Chicken Monkey
Is that the Last Dance w/ Mary Jane beat? I don't understand the question--why do you need it named?

I was hoping to raise my rhythm vocabulary above the level of grunts and pointing, but I suppose I should consider the audience.
