My favorite piece by you so far, bar none. It's selfish, but I'm sheepishly kind of glad I came in where I did, 'cause it hit me, overall, with the 'rightness' of a finished, well-actualized piece. The use of space is very nice, it keeps drawing us in, when so often, it seems like a busy beat is propelling us on out the other end of a given song. The vocal arrangements really work. That said, this is my favorite vocal from you by far. The exception is the "Solomon sang the song of songs" bit--it brings to mind Debbie Harry rapping on "Rapture": a little forced, and "put on". Even with that, this kept we wondering what was coming next, while being hooky enough to keep me comfortable, and I missed it when it was done.
