Members Bruce Bennett
I'm offering a brand new J.Backlund Design JBD-800 in a Left handed version. its the first one of these I've built in these models. and this one was sent to Elliot Easton for approval, it has a tiki god truss rod cover that was made just for him, he sent this one back because he wants a laminated neck and humbuckers and I may as well build a complete new guitar instead of trying to fit a new neck to this one. the specs: Alder body. kiln dried and then air dried another 4 years. also, there were no CNC machines used in the makeing of this guitar. this was all done by hand/power tools only. the body is fully sculpted for comfort and has a belly scarf similar to a mid 50s strat. the Neck is 1 piece flat sawn maple with a dual action truss rod deep set with filler strip and an ebony fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. The frets are a medium jumbo wire by jescar and have been plek'ed and then hand massaged to perfection.. a hand made bone nut and high gloss finish complete the neck. the nut width is 1 11/16" wide, and the neck has lightly rolled fretboard edges. the neck carve is a "D" shape, similar to a San Dimas Charvel with just a little more meat on the shoulders. the neck is very fast and has a dual taper ( thickness and width) as you go up the neck to help keep the feel even. the pickups are seymour Duncan Phat cats and they sound excellent. the tremolo bridge is by hipshot and is the "Contour" model, the tuning keys are Hipshot locking tuners. all electronics are American made and cleanly wired, useing CTS pots, switchcraft jacks, electrosocket jack cup, and CTS 3 way switch. all wire is by Belden. the body is shot in Candy Tangerine metallic and is a very thin poly based lacquer. the paint was done by Sims Custom shop. this guitar comes with a rectangular Gator wooden hard case for "Jaguar" guitars to best fit the offset body. Retail on this would be 3795.00. will consider offers or trades. this will be the last USA made J.Backund Design offered to the public in a left handed version. and it is number 1 of 2, the second one going to Elliot Easton. enjoy the photos and feel free to ask questions.
