Members Rotti
This is a new thread to clear up any confusion over my last thread featuring this and another guitar (mods, that thread may be closed, thank you). For sale is a 1968 Reissue Gibson Les Paul Custom with an ultra-rare (1 of 25) 5A quilted maple "Firemist" top. The guitar is completely stock, except that the previous owner installed Dunlop "Strap-Locs" - Original strap buttons WILL be included with sale. I do not have a COA for this guitar; HOWEVER, after a literal and lengthy manhunt, I have the original Gibson warranty card with matching guitar description and serial number (please see pics below to match ser.no. on headstock with the card). The warranty card has not been filled out by the original owner or myself, so the buyer can enjoy all of the original owner privileges after registering the guitar in their name!!! The guitar is 99.999% mint. there is one scratch on the back of the neck approx. 1-1.5cm long around the 9th fret area (pic below). It is not deep enough to affect playability or really to even notice without very close inspection. There is no wear on any hardware or scratches otherwise. The guitar has been "glass cased" (or lived in its Gibson Custom Shop case) 100% of the time it has been owned except to test electronics and set up action (all work done by qualified techs). The sale includes everything pictured below: the guitar described above, its original Gibson Custom hard case (burgundy/maroon velvet interior), the original strap buttons, a nice leather strap with the male ends of the Dunlop Strap-Locs, the original Gibson warranty card, a "congratulations" letter from Gibson, a Gibson Custom owner's manual, a hex/Phillips tool, and a black satin inside-the-case guitar cover. The sale also INCLUDES Paypal fees and shipping to the lower 48 states. Due to the effort on my part to secure and provide documentation for this guitar, I am increasing my asking price to $4200 OBO, cash. These originally RETAILED for $5500 through musiciansfriend.com (who, as far as I can tell, had the lowest price on these LPs). However, I will listen to trade or trade+cash offers. I'm not particularly interested in more guitars - I'm selling this one to thin out the herd - but again, I'll listen to offers. Post for questions. PM for offers. Thanks for looking!
