Tips for Drum Notation in Lime

Well, since Carmine encouraged me to try Lime again - and I find it to be REALLY counter-intuitive - I figured we might as well make a big list of tips for writing drum notation using Lime. So, I'll start.

1) To quickly enter "Note Entry Mode" press CTRL-N

2) To change noteheads, click the little dot below the keyboard (next to "Gliss", while in note entry mode) until it changes to the notehead you want.

3) To get a drum notation clef, go to Symbol->Clef (or press CTRL-F).

4) To flip the stem direction (e.g. up for cymbal notes or down for kick), go to Stem->Stem Up (or down).

5) To enter multiple instruments (e.g. kick, snare and cymbals) on the same staff you need to add multiple "voices." To do that, go Voice->Parts and Voices and click New Part. Make one for each instrument (i.e. "voice") you want and then click "Together" to make them all show on one staff.

6) I suppose this is somewhat a personal preference/somewhat convention, but I find that middle C works for snare and E below middle C works for kick. (You could use E and F below middle C for double kick.)

...more to come. Please add more if you know what you're doing.
