    In windows 7 how do you make icons and folder lists rearrangeable? Mine does only preset arrangements and dragging requires a folder destination.

    Try this:



    right click on the Desktop, then click on "View", then uncheck "Align to grid".



    Hope that works.



    edit: oops! scratch that.



    right click on the Desktop, then click on "View", then uncheck "Auto Arrange" for the icon arrangement issue.



    couldn't find anything about turning off the folder destination thingy.

      Desktop worked thanks. Folders are still frozen. Another dumb thing is there's no way to view a collection of files on a numbered list. Or numbering the files short of renaming them on a per use basis.
