So I found myself wondering who Chris Coleman is ...

Check out Bubbatron per John Ziegler's thread too.

    Who is Chris Coleman?

Oh, just another one of those Gospel drummers who can play anything that comes to mind with ease, hit really hard and set there drums up like most other Gospel players.

I'm fasinated by guys like CC who can play like this and so powerfully.  But I'm also kinda bored with it all now.

Usually the GC drum off is won by a Gospel drummer.  2012 was won by this Carlos Mendoza, who showed what I thought was much more soul and musical ability.

      nyeeh ...

The GC stuff - drummers showing the best drumming they can come up with. You know ruhtattatatta boodly boodly pididididiyum bada bum bada bum chicka tsss chicka tss -  tryna make  uh MUSIC???

mostly like fish out of water. The Gospel guys eh ... cool diddle modulations but seldom in an ensemble context. I thought Coleman special because there's no lag in that demo. Not just cool chops but dead on no matter what he did. Kicked and filled right in there. Crash for crash like it was midi locked.  All the figures sound like a million. I'm from the school that believes THAT'S where the music starts. Get there and THEN add feel.
