Just wondering what drives the self esteem of a stage personality.

Any combination; what kind of player are you?

I'm just a plain ole musician, and I do mean old!

I'm happy just playing music that people can dance to, listen to or drink to. Can you tell I'm a blues guy?

don't remember, that was long time ago and decades before my sex drive became a moderate sunday morning during the church bell ring for service gymnastic excercise for old people... today most often I fall asleep after 1 minute, 2 minutes and I would expereince an unwanted climax, that's to dangerous for my old heart, but I still practice the bongos weekly

beer.  and lots of it. this does, however, diminish ability.

If lots of beer diminishes your ability, you need to practice more! Not the drums, the beer drinking. LOL!

I try to always be the best player I can be, never satisfied with my playing, and always trying to improve. That leads me to sometimes complex music that has a very limited audience or venues with which to perform it, so I also play stuff that appeals to a broader spectrum of people.

I can appreciate that. I have a soft spot for excellence. This thread was inspired by some recent jams - bunches of people falling over each other - AND MEANING EVERY NOTE OF IT - LOLMG.
