  • Finally broke down....

    ...and got me a Cajon. Just an inexpensive one, about $120 on sale at my local drum shop.

    I was thinking of mounting a carrying handle on the back. Is that a bad idea? I don't like carrying it by the rear port. Opinions?

    If I were you, I'd just get/make a bag for it. Ought to help protect the finish too.

      Yeah, just get a bag. Additionally, cajons are really thin, and any type of hole/ added cloth might cut down on the resonance.

    You shoulda got the kind with the woofer and tweeter holes pre-cut.
