  • ROBOTSPEAk in San Francisco is offering a Class in Analog Modular Synthesis on February 3rd 12:00

ROBOTSPEAk is Northern Californias only Electronic Music Store. Since 2002 we have been specializing in Analog and Digital Synthesizers, controllers, Music software and Digital audio interfaces and pretty much everything related to electronoic music. We have also been offering inexpensive and comprehensive classes in Abelton Live, Max 4 live, Analog Modular synthesis, Logic, Protools, Audio Mastering, Serge Modular Build Workshops, Live shows and free clinics.
We have a full roster of classes lined up for the first Quarter of this year and will soon be carrying a bunch of Eurorack Modulars. We will also have custom built Serge Modulars that were made by our Robotspeak team in hose and for sale in the lower Haight part of San Francisco---the neighbor hood that Serge Tcherepnin himself started his legacy back in the 70's.
Our Modular Analogue Synthesis class starts on February 3rd. We will be using a Serge System to travel through all of the basics and more heady elements of synthesis and it's history. A great way to revive or expand your knowledge of synthesis while learning interesting and obscure bits that the instructor LX Rudis has amassed in his information sponge of a brain.

    12PM Sunday February 3rd, 10th and 17th

    LOCATION: ROBOTSPEAk 589 & 1/2 Haight St SF CA 94117 @ Steiner.

$285 for three 3 hour classes

Explore the inner reaches and outer limits of modular analog synthesis with RobotSpeak's own Lx Rudis. This class will occur over the course of three Saturday afternoons. The first day will cover the basics of analogue audio synthesis. the second day is devoted to more complex uses of analog modular synthesizers. The third day will be devoted to hands-on workshops.

The class will use a combination of Serge analog modulars and contemporary Moog equipment to demonstrate analog synthesis technique

1- a brief history of modular analogue synthesis.

    2- subtractive analogue synthesis
    a. typical modules [in a monophonic synth]
    b. audio signal flow

    3- basics of Voltage Control

    4- realtime expression and control

    5- typical voice applications
