Members stevokineavo
Hi- I was thinking of picking up a Boss TR-2 pedal for use on a song or two during our set. Does anyone have any drawbacks on using this with a bass? I've read some threads on HC about the tone being sucked out, but I'm planning on using this on a couple of the mellower songs that we have and using an EQ to boost those sections back up to par. Everything else that I have so far (other Boss pedals) are specifically for bass (-B after the model number). thanks-Stevo
Members Ender_rpm
I used to have one I used with my gutar rig. Its a good pedal, but tends to reduce bass response. there's a bunch of circuit board mods out there for it, but I just ended up using a GT6B for bass fx anyway. Have fun! Members Optimus Prime
Some are definitely bound to work better than others. A DD-3 will sound much better on bass than a DS-1. The TR-2 should be fine.
Members stevokineavo
Thanks guys. Just got the Markbass combo last weekend (2x10). Can't wait to test out the new pedal and report back.
Members stevokineavo
Got the pedal and like the options, but it does drop the volume a bit. It actually works out, because I can raise my master volume a little on the amp and then use this pedal in the on position during the intro and verses of the song where it's quiet and click the trem pedal off during the heavy section (which should bring the volume back to normal). Gives our song just enough wobble at the beginning- exactly what I was missing earlier!
