Members SYRINGEBASS
I have an SWR 350 'Pre-Fender Red Face' that has a very loud hiss/hum. I am running it through an Ampeg 410 HLF. It has not been in uses for the last 2-3 yrs or so, and I recently started playing with a band again. It was pretty dirty and I blew it out and replaced the pre-amp tube with a GT 12Ax-7, & De-Oxed the pots. I went straight from bass to amp. I tried several basses and still had the hiss so I am convinced it has to be the amp. Bad tube? Ground? Still Dirty? Any Ideas?
Members misterhinkydink
Do the symptoms exist with the previous tube?

Members SYRINGEBASS
I can't honestly say that the problem existed with the old tube. The last time I turned this amp on was in 2009. The tube that was in there was at least 5-6 years old, it has been sitting for so long I thought a new tube would do it some good. I do still have the old tube. Should I pop it back in and see what happens?

Members FLSTC
take the pre-amp out , and resolder all the solder-joints of the potmeters , chassis jacks.and the tube-socket.It's already an older amp , and due to "galvanic corrosion" the pins of these parts might come a bit loose in the solder-joints..
